The man alleged to have fatally shot his girlfriend in the face during an argument this week turned himself into police yesterday.
Marcus Johnson, 32, was charged overnight with murder for the death of Nekeisha Eugene, 32, the Daily News reported.
Johnson and Eugene reportedly lived together at Courtyard Apartments near 5th Street and Washington Avenue in South Philly.
Johnson is alleged to have shot Eugene in the face and arm around 10 p.m. Monday at point-blank range, after firing at her six times. Eugene reportedly died from her injuries around 4:45 p.m. the next day at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Police received calls of gunfire after the shooting and discovered the couple’s apartment in disarray and reportedly showing signs of a violent struggle.
Johnson has a preliminary hearing scheduled Oct. 1.
