If you haven’t yet made it to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for its new exhibit highlighting the work of Impressionist Mary Cassatt, the Rittenhouse Hotel is now giving you a few reasons to.
The Museum and Hotel have partnered up to offer both locals and travelers the option to experience the work of Cassatt through different food and beverage immersions, spa deals and packages that include tickets to the PMA’s exhibit itself.
Cassatt, a distinguished French Impressionist born in Pennsylvania, holds a unique connection to The Rittenhouse, and those who have been inside the venue may have even dined in the Mary Cassatt Tea Room. The Hotel also stands on the grounds of her brother’s former estate, it features a guest room titled the Mary Cassatt Suite, and you can also catch some of her original artwork in its lobby.
As a release notes, through the end of summer, The Rittenhouse will showcase Cassatt’s ties to the hotel and her exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art through a series of bespoke experiences celebrating her legacy in Philadelphia.
“The rich history and culture of Philadelphia are the foundation of The Rittenhouse and our collaboration with the Philadelphia Museum of Art creates a unique opportunity for experiential storytelling,” said Reginald Archambault, general manager of The Rittenhouse in a statement. “Through our partnership, we’re able to honor Mary Cassatt’s spirit and further enhance our renowned guest experience.”
One way to immerse yourself at the Hotel is through its Library Bar. The Rittenhouse’s artisanal libation hub is offering an impressionist-style seasonal cocktail menu with selections inspired by the color palettes and titles of Cassatt’s famed works. Cassatt’s signature chocolate truffles will also be prepared by the property’s Pastry Chef using her original recipe. Visitors can try the sweet treats through the Afternoon Tea menu at the Tea Room or as a turndown amenity for select hotel guests.
For a spirited addition to the Cassatt offerings, a special edition Mural City Cellars Cabernet Franc Rosé, aptly named ‘Mary Cassatt at Work,’ will be available at the Hotel’s eateries—Scarpetta and Lacroix. A portion of the proceeds of every bottle sold will go towards the PMA as well.
On top of the food and drink offerings, the Rittenhouse’s Lasting Impressions Package includes “luxurious” accommodations, tickets to ‘Mary Cassatt at Work’ at the PMA, an in-room tea experience for two, a specialty bottle of the Mary Cassatt at Work Cabernet Franc Rosé and a gift bag (which will include those aforementioned truffles.)
Or, visitors can opt for the Maternal Kiss Package at the Hotel’s spa, a nod to one of Cassatt’s famed works which includes a series of treatments, a poolside lunch experience and a takeaway gift, the release also notes.
