Two men allegedly tied to Maryland murder were apprehended Sunday night in Juniata following a police chase and crash, authorities said.

Philadelphia police officers spotted a pickup truck with Maryland plates at around 11:15 p.m. on the 4000 block of I Street, and a search revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen and was wanted, according to authorities.

When the officers activated their sirens, the driver of the truck took off at a high speed and eventually crashed into two cars that were parked in the center lane on the 4000 block of Castor Avenue, investigators said. The truck also bounced into the police cruiser.

After the collision, police arrested a 52-year-old man and a 35-year-old man. Neither were publicly identified, though the PPD said the pair are “persons of interest” in a homicide case in Maryland. A department spokesperson told Metro that information about the out-of-state killing was not available.

Both men received medical treatment before being transported to a police detention unit, according to authorities.
