Two masked men made off with more than $100,000 this morning after an armored car heist in Northeast Philadelphia, police said.
Just before 9 a.m., the two men ambushed the proprietors of an armored car in the parking lot of the TD Bank at 6635 Frankford Ave. in Mayfair, Police Spokeswoman Tanya Little said.
After stealing $105,000, the two menescaped in a black-and-white van that was parked on the 6600 block of Tackawanna Street, Little said.
No injuries were reported.
In late October, three men in Halloween masks robbed an armored car in the parking lot of a Wells Fargo Bank on the 8000 block of Frankford Avenue in Holmesburg. No arrests have been made in this case.
Police have not connected the two incidents.
