Police are on the hunt for a man accused of shooting and attempting to rob a man early Tuesday morning in Philadelphia’s Center City, ABC Philly reported. The incident, which happened at around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, involved a masked man on the 1500 block of Locust Street near the Kimmel Center, CBS Philly reported. “Witnesses tell police a 38-year-old man was walking with a friend when a masked man attempted to rob the pair at gunpoint,” CBS explained. “Police say one of the men started to run, and that’s when the gunman opened fire, shooting him in the right arm.” Police found the victim bleeding profusely at Broad and Sansom streets. It was not clear if anything was stolen from the victim.
“We found one spent shell casing at the intersection of 15th and Locust streets. It’s a large caliber shell casing, so the weapon was of a large caliber. That’s more than likely why our victim was in critical condition,” Chief Inspector Scott Small explained to CBS. “Our victim did lose a lot of blood.” The unidentified 38-year-old victim was reportedly rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital in critical condition.
