Back in February, Philly rapper Meek Mill performed for nearly 20,000 people at the Wells Fargo Center but last night, he came to town for a much more intimate affair at the Fillmore in Fishtown, which has a capacity of around 2,500.
According to Philly.com, the 30-year-old rapper isn’t performing smaller venues because his fanbase has gotten smaller, he’s trying to drum up some excitement for his new album, “Wins & Losses,” with pop-up shows.
Meek Mill has teamed up with Jay-Z’s Tidal streaming service for a series of three free performances for his most dedicated fans: the one in Philly last night, one in New York last Friday and an upcoming show on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.
There were appearances by Cardi B, Offset from Migos and Philly emcee RecoHavoc.
He also performed his duet with Nicki Minaj, “All Eyes on You,” without her and revealed to the crowd that he is in fact single.
