Philly native and rap sensation Meek Mill reportedly got involved in fisticuffs with some overeager fans on Wednesday.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Meek, whose real name is Robert Williams, would face repercussions in Philadelphia over the incident, where he remains on probation for a 2008 drug and gun case. TMZ broke the story, reporting that a scuffle broke out Wednesday in St. Louis Lambert International Airport after Meek was approached by an airport employee who wanted a picture. Mill responded to rumors that he had been arrested with an Instagram picture of his feet up in his tour van, a Mercedes Sprinter. “Locked in the slammer nope popped up in Miami,” he wrote.
Meek reportedly received a court summons. St. Louis city police and the airport officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Airport employee Justin Card and his cousin, De’Angelo Webb, also an airport employe, toldTMZ that Meek’s crew started the fightwhen they tried to get photos with the rapper, who was in town for a concert. Card and Webb claimed they were also given criminal summonses for the incident, and both lost their jobs.
Mill is still on probation in Philadelphia for the 2009 conviction. He was ordered to serve90 days house arrest in 2015for traveling without permission, and previously hadto spend six months in jailfor another probation violation.
