Meet Me On South Street’s ‘Firework Stroll’ kicks off July 3

Independence Day is always a grand affair, especially in Philadelphia. There’s so much to do that you can’t pack it all into a single day, which is why many in the City of Brotherly Love will be starting the festivities early as Meet Me on South Street hosts a night of fireworks, food, and family fun.

Debuting in August of 2022, Meet Me on South Street has become a staple in the city, highlighting the best the “#slightlyoffcenter” part of the city has to offer. Hosting several events throughout the year, Meet Me on South Steet’s “Firework Stroll” is set to take place on Wednesday, July 3.

The stroll is set to begin at 5 p.m. at 8th and South streets, where Brauhaus Schmitz — celebrating their 15th anniversary— will feature a lovely place to sit and enjoy a beer al fresco. In addition, there will be a DJ pumping excitement in the air, Vietnamese fare from Bánh Mì and Bottles, and an assortment of diverse and unique goods at the outdoor marketplace.

Continuing the stroll down to 4th and South, the streets will be filled with vendors offering handmade goods and other products. The Brazas food truck will also be there, ready to serve a selection of  Peruvian food. For those looking to quench some thirst, Triple Bottom Brewery will have a selection of craft beer and a lounge area where you can enjoy your drinks as you wait for the fireworks.

Those in attendance can work their way down to 3rd Street, where they will find Neighborhood Ramen at 3rd and Bainbridge. As they prepare to relocate to Tokyo, Neighborhood Ramen will be closing their doors, but they’re not leaving without one last night to enjoy the neighborhood as they’ll host a street party featuring art, karaoke, and noodles.

Finally, as you make your way to The Front Street Green, you will find a wonderful view of the fireworks display from the USS New Jersey, which will help kick off the Fourth of July festivities in style.

Meet Me On South Street’s ‘Firework Stroll’ will take place between the 3rd and 8th Street blocks on South Street. For more information, visit southstreet.com
