Philadelphians are the key to the city’s economic recovery. With a majority of Americans planning to take a vacation this summer, the city hopes that many residents — as well as those from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions that are an easy drive or train ride to the city — can kick-start an economic recovery.

Fortunately, there’s plenty of pent-up demand for entertainment and leisure activities, many of which are cheaper to explore and easier to navigate than in the past.

And that creates an opportunity for institutions to focus their efforts on locals. Plenty of families are staycationing instead of traveling internationally or across the country, and they’re doing more day trips than ever.

The hundreds of thousands of Philadelphians who read Metro every week are looking for activities to do with their families. They’re already filling seats at entertainment venues and ballparks. They’re visiting dinosaurs at The Academy of Natural Sciences, or learning about history at the Museum of the American Revolution. And they’ve been going to restaurants in numbers that are rapidly increasing.

If you’re looking to reach a readership with more children under 18 than any other print publication, with a large amount of disposable income, and an incalculable pent-up demand for activities and entertainment, reach out to The City Tourist here
