Fall is festival time and this Saturday, October 1, marks the sixth anniversary of the Midtown Village Fall Festival. The 5-block outdoor party will take place on the 1300 block of Drury St. Roads will be closed to traffic on 13th St. from Locust to Chestnut and on Sansom St. from 12th to Juniper beginning at noon and ending at 8pm.
Area merchants will take to the streets with sidewalk sales and artisans and crafters will offer handmade items. Sample food and drink from some of the best neighborhoods in town including APO, Bar, Barbuzzo (home of the budino), Bindi, El Vez, Fergie’s, Grocery, Jack’s Sandwich Board, McGillin’s, Time, Tweed, Sampan, Vintage and Zavino.
The Hard Rock Café will also present a live music stage at 13th & Locust Sts. from 12pm to 6pm. Bands like Union Suns, Find Vienna, Fantastic Planet, Collisions, Desoto Jones and Toy Soldiers will perform. Additional features include sumo wrestling and a beer garden (yum). On the family-friendly side, there will also be a “Little Villagers” area, complete with free moon bounce, sidewalk chalk and pumpkin painting.
This event is free and open to the public. The weather looks to be beautiful, so get out there and enjoy! Winter will be here before we know it.
