Last year, the Sixers went 41-41. This year, they’re 13-27. The only major subtraction? Starting point guard Andre Miller.
“I follow [the Sixers] a little bit,” said Miller, now a member of the Blazers. “I don’t know [if I’m the difference]. They’re definitely better than their record.”
The Sixers chose to let Miller walk as an unrestricted free agent last summer. He ended up signing a three-year, $21 million deal to head West.
“That’s the past now, so I don’t really dwell on it,” Miller said. “[Ed Stefanski] had to make a decision and I had to make a decision.”
Miller’s transition hasn’t been smooth. He opened the season as the backup point guard behind Steve Blake and butted heads with coach Nate McMillan. The waters have gotten less choppy of late.
“He’s our starting point guard and we are adapting to him being out on the floor with that starting group,” said McMillan.
