Last Thursday, Mitchell & Ness transformed their flagship retail store into a hot nightclub party to showcase the new fall/holiday 2011 collection. Local celebrities, athletes, media and trendsetters sipped top-shelf cocktails while enjoying music by DJ Jayo with a special guest set by DJ Questlove. I wouldn’t exactly call myself a “sporty” girl, but I’m all about the hometown pride. So, it’s no shock that I was there checking out the goods.
Mitchell & Ness, headquartered in Philadelphia, has been the leading purveyor of authentic, vintage sports apparel since 1904. It carries hundreds of premium jerseys, t-shirts, hoodies, jackets hats and accessories licensed from the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL and NCAA. The company has been designing clothing for Philadelphia’s professional sports teams since the 1930s. Some of the standouts of the new collection include Mitchell & Ness t-shirts, NHL tailgate vest (Flyer’s version, of course) and a retro Eagles hoodie, perfect for tailgating. Stop in and see what’s in store for your favorite team.
