Moore College presents Women in Animation Film Festival

The 2017 MooreWomenArtists: Women in Animation Film Festival runs from Thursday, March 23, through Sunday, March 26, featuring screenings of animated films as well as interactive panels.

Founded in 1848, Moore College of Art & Design is the nation’s first and only women’s visual arts school for undergraduates, and therefore a very appropriate place to host such an event. Along with a screening of the animated feature “Inuyasha” by Rumiko Takahashi, the festival will also present shorts like 2016’s “Window Horses,” which features the vocal talent of Sandra Oh and Ellen Page.

Animation meets music in an audio collage mixtape by Jessica Ciocci, founding member of the art collective Paper Rad out of Pittsburgh and Providence, Rhode Island. Filmmaker and animator Emily Hubley will also be there, screening an eloquent collection of her work and that of her mother, Faith Hubley, who passed away in 2001. Besides viewing the films, guests can participate in discussions, an Adobe Creative jam and the annual panel featuring female game designers.

This is an important event for Moore, as it’s graduating its first group of students majoring in animation and game arts in May. You don’t want to miss coming together with this amazing group of women.
