Eight people were wounded in shootings Sunday night into Monday in Philadelphia.

Police said a 27-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot in the chin, left arm and right shoulder at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 27 on the 3900 block of City Avenue in West Philadelphia.

In Southwest Philadelphia, someone shot a 25-year-old man once in the shoulder just before 1 a.m. Monday on the 7000 block of Greenway Avenue. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition.

At around the same time, a 31-year-old man was stabbed twice in the back and once in each thigh inside a house on the 700 block of Ritner Street in South Philadelphia, authorities said.

Medics transported him to Jefferson University Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

On Sunday, just after 8:15 p.m., a 27-year-old man was walking on the 2200 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue in Wynnewood when he heard gunfire and realized he was hit, investigators said.

The victim was struck twice in the back and three times in the arm, police said. He is expected to survive. Officers at the scene found 18 shell casings from a 9mm gun.

Earlier, at around 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 26, a 28-year-old man was shot in both arms on the 2400 block of Firth Street in North Philadelphia. He was later listed in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.

Four men were hospitalized after gunfire rang out just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday on the 800 block of W. Clearfield Street in North Philadelphia.

The victims, who range in age from 23 to 25, walked into Temple Hospital following the shooting. All four are expected to physically recover, authorities said.
