In what seems like a perpetual case of deja vu, more tires were slashed in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia overnight.
Residents on the 4200 block of Aldine Street awoke shortly after 5 a.m. to find that 10 vehicles had their tires ripped through, police said.
The peculiar brand of urban terrorism has been plaguing the neighborhood since October. Over 100 tires have been slashed in the area, with many residents complaining their vehicles have been damaged multiple times. Aldine Street alone has been hit at least twice, sparking talk of vigilante groups and a reward from the Fraternal Order of Police.
Police arrested 21-year-old Holmesburg man Quincy Kramer last month for puncturing tires on the 3300 block of Cottman Avenue in Mayfair. Capt. Jack McGinnis of Northeast Detectives discussed the possibility of multiple copycats at the time and said that he didn’t believe Kramer to be responsible for all of the slashings, including those on Aldine.
