Wawais planning to expand its presence in Center City, and is considering for locations for two of its convenience stores, sources told the Philadelphia Business Journal.
One store will reportedly occupy 7,000 square feet at the East Market project at 12th and Market streets. The second will be a bi-level, 4,500-square-foot space at the corner of 13th and Chestnut streets in a space currently occupied by the I. Goldberg Army Navy store, the business publication reported, citing multiple anonymous sources.
Currently, Wawaoperates four Center City locations, including its flagship Philadelphia store at Broad and Walnut streets, which opened in September 2015. A location at 19th and Market streets is reportedly expected to open by Thanksgiving, as well.
