With the fall season now in full force, there are plenty of fun activities to get excited about—and this month Morgan’s Pier will truly be throwing down autumn-style. Aside from debuting a new seasonal menu and cocktail selection, the popular hotspot will also be hosting entertainment, activities and events that will make you feel all of the warm fuzzies while the weather begins to cool down.
Starting September 23rd, the popular waterside destination from FCM Hospitality will be hosting six weeks of fall-themed entertainment, events, food and cocktails all featuring the backdrop of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River. Morgan’s Pier will be decked out into a fall wonderland with fall flowers and foliage, carved themed pumpkins, hay bales, cornstalks and other festive surprises. Guests can even pick and carve their own pumpkins right from the Pier’s patch on weekends from 11 am to 5 pm for anywhere from $5 to $10. Additionally, music will be provided by local entertainers every weekend on Thursday nights, Friday happy hour and night, Saturday day and night and Sunday day until Fall Fest ends on Nov 1.
The menu will also be loaded up with all-new culinary specials catered to the season from Chef in Residence Jon Adair, who has worked in the past at other popular Philly spots such as Fork, South Helm and Helm Rittenhouse. According to the release, Chef has evolved the outdoor beer garden’s backyard BBQ menu by bringing together seasonal flavors, local ingredients and high end training featuring a variety of favorite dishes this season including the Mushroom FATbread featuring Lost Bread Co.’s dough, topped with white sauce, pancetta, ricotta and sage. For a sweet seasonal ending to the meal, don’t miss a throwback with the Pier’s Pumpkin Bread and Fried Apple Empanadas as well.
Morgan’s Pier will also feature a spirited amount of beers available both on draft and in cans from top picks such as MainStay Octoberfest, Sam Adams Octoberfest, Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Cider, Evil Genius Trick or Treat Choc Pumpkin Porter, 2SP Baby Bob Stout and a rotating assortment of pumpkin ales as well. Philadelphians can also indulge in a selection of specialty cocktails while there, all of which will be available throughout the entirety of Morgan’s Pier Oktoberfest. Choices range from the S’mores (a hot cocktail made with Skyy Vanilla, hot chocolate, honey/cinnamon simple syrup topped with marshmallow and chocolate syrup), Spiked Pumpkin Latte (a hot cocktail made with Titos vodka, pumpkin puree, rum chata and coffee), Coffee Cascade (a hot cocktail made with Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey, Irish cream, coffee and hot chocolate), Sugar N Spice ( a cold cocktail made with spiced rum, Angry Orchard Cider and angostura bitters), Mulled Sangria (a cold cocktail made with red wine, apple brandy apple cider, OJ, cinnamon syrup, all spice dram, sprite, apples and pears) and much more.
According to the release, throughout the duration of Fall Fest, Morgan’s Pier will also be implementing strict safety guidelines which include: Social distancing markers that will be measured out and posted in all line and waiting areas, staff and guests wearing a mask at all times (except when seated), no standing room and all bar areas remaining closed, and no entry without being seated by staff members. All seating will also be spaced to maintain 6 feet of social distance, guests will be required to make a reservation for contact tracing, chairs and tables will be sanitized between guests, staff will be subject to temperature checks prior to the start of all shifts to assure they are safely able to work, and additional cleaning standards will be implemented prior to opening, after closing and throughout the day by staff.
