Motorcyclist killed in Center City crash

A motorcyclist died early Tuesday morning following a brutal crash on Broad Street in Center City, authorities said.

Kenneth Walker Jr., 40, of Point Breeze, was riding south on Broad Street near Vine Street at around 2:30 a.m. when his motorcycle collided with a Honda Civic, according to police. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital, where he died just after 4:30 a.m.

The car was turning left onto Broad from Vine, and Walker’s motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, investigators said. Authorities did not provide information on who had the right-of-way.

Police said the driver remained at the scene, and detectives continue to investigate the crash.
