National Coffee Day: Top spots to celebrate in Philadelphia

Perk up, coffee fans — National Coffee Day arrives Monday, Sept. 29, with perfect timing for the start of the work week.

There is no shortage of quality spots for a cup of joe in the city, but it can be a bit overwhelming. To help, Metro has the scoop on some of the top spots in Philadelphia to get your java on.

The Bakery

The South Philadelphia café, known for their donuts, specialty coffee, and Sicilian pies, is celebrating National Coffee Day with a perfect pairing of a deal. On Monday, Sept. 29, The Bakery is giving away one free cup of hot coffee with the purchase of any donut from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m., or until sold out.

The special perfectly coincides with the release of The Bakery’s fall menu, which includes seasonal classics like their Pumpkin Latte and more creative twists like their Dunkaroo Latte with graham cracker milk, espresso, and funfetti cold foam or their Ghost Mocha with mocha milk, espresso, and a fluffy ghost topper.
