1 It’s time for a tighter rotation
The minutes Marreese Speights and Andres Nocioni gave in Game 1 were unacceptable. Thaddeus Young needs a bump to 32-34 minutes as his quickness gives the Heat bigs all kinds of problems. Lou Williams also needs closer to 28 minutes as scoring 89 points won’t get it done.
2 Don’t complain, get even
The Heat shot 39 free throws in Game 1, and the Sixers shot 15. Whining to the refs about superstars getting calls won’t help — taking the ball aggressively to the basket will. Taking 19 treys, as the Sixers did Saturday, is a recipe for disaster. A healthier Williams will be key to evening the free-throw disparity.
3 How do you stop Dwyane Wade?
The Sixers used stopper Andre Iguodala on LeBron James, and “The King” shot 4-of-14 from the field. But the true closer on the Heat is Dwyane Wade, meaning the Sixers may try to adjust assignments late in games. While Jodie Meeks can’t switch onto James, Young or Evan Turner could.
