You may have noticed recently that the streets around City Hall are an unholy, unpaved mess.
The streets, known asPenn Square, have been torn up for a redesign that will include a badly needed bike lane on 15th Street, the Streets Department announced Wednesday.
“In early April, PennDOT will be paving and restriping the square,” the Streets Department announced in a press release.

“The pavement markings will be upgraded to clarify complex vehicular merges and decision points,” they said.
All existing crosswalks will be repainted.
Last but certainly not least, 15th Street is getting a “marked, buffered” bicycle lane, which should help the many bikers who ride down the street on their commute to work.
