New safety protocols announced for XPoNential Music Festival

One of Philly’s favorite traditions is back this year, with extra safety measurements in place.

WXPN has announced new safety protocols for its 2021 XPoNential Music Festival, which will take place Friday, Sept. 17 through Sunday, Sept. 19 on the Delaware Riverfront in Camden, New Jersey.

A negative COVID-19 test result or proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or will be required to enter the festival at Wiggins Park and the adjacent BB&T Pavilion. All XPoNential Music Festival ticket holders age 12 and older will be required to show one of the following:

Negative COVID-19 Test

Those not fully vaccinated are required to provide a negative result from a diagnostic COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours (3 days) of entering the festival, along with an appropriate ID matching the name on their documentation.

Proof of Vaccination

An original or printed copy of your vaccination card showing that you received a second dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson, no later than Friday, Sept. 3, must be provided along with an appropriate ID matching the name on your documentation.

Children under 12 will be required to wear a mask when moving through the festival grounds, and may remove them when seated. If they plan to attend the Saturday evening concert at BB&T Pavilion, they are required to take a diagnostic COVID-19 test within 72 hours (3 days) of entering the festival and provide proof of a negative result.

Per CDC guidelines, all attendees, regardless of vaccination status, should wear masks in any indoor spaces. Any individuals experiencing COVID-like symptoms are strongly encouraged to remain at home.

“We are looking forward to a lively, safe, and comfortable festival in line with guidance from public officials and health professionals,” said WXPN General Manager Roger LaMay in a statement. “Throughout WXPN’s 25 years of successfully presenting an annual outdoor music festival, our overriding mission has been to connect artists with audiences in the safest way possible.
