New waterfront attractions here

The Penn’s Landing riverfront will be bursting with growth and activities this summer as they debut new renovations and festivities. The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation has been hard at work “transforming the waterfront district into a vibrant destination location for recreational, cultural, and commercial activities for the residents and visitors of Philadelphia.”

The Penn’s Landing Marina will reopen on May 27 after four months of renovations. The $2.2 million improvements include access for different types of boaters to the area. Tomorrow, Mayor Michael Nutter will officially unveil the new Race Street Pier, the 1-acre finger park jutting out into the river.
