As much as we love a simple glazed donut, we have no complaints about winter flavors entering the mix at Federal Donuts, at both the 1632 Sansom St. and 1219 S. Second St. locations. The shop, which sells fried chicken and donuts, debuted three new seasonal treats to choose from:
Crumberry
This one has a layer of cranberry glaze, topped with chopped dried cranberries mixed into a buttery pie crumb.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
There’s no escaping pumpkin spice this time of year. The donut version has a layer of pumpkin glaze, topped with homemade coffee streusel.
Gingerbread
The glaze here is made with ginger juice extracted from fresh ginger, accented with coffee, cinnamon, cloves and molasses and topped with a cream cheese drizzle.
