Chris Pronger loves playing mind games. Whether it’s messing with the media, opposing teams or teammates, the Flyers’ stud defenseman is always a wild card.
So, it appears, is his status for tomorrow’s playoff opener against Buffalo.
Pronger, who has missed a month since having surgery on his broken right hand, is still listed as day-to-day. He took part in a 50-minute skate yesterday and handled a stick, but didn’t handle a puck or practice.
He wouldn’t say if he’d be suiting up for Game 1.
“I guess you will have to wait and see,” Pronger said.
Teammate Danny Briere appeared on a Buffalo radio station and said that it was “very possible” that Pronger could miss the entire series. Following Flyers practice, however, Briere said he was just joking around with the radio hosts and that he had no clue whether Pronger would play.
“I just don’t know, nobody knows when he’s going to be ready,” Briere said.
