NJ man charged in election-night Trump graffiti: police

Police on Thursday announced an arrest in one of the many acts of graffiti related to the election of Donald Trump that have occurred around Philadelphia.

William Tucker, 58, or Lawnside, New Jersey, is charged with tagging messages about Trump on South Sixth Street, just south of Christian Street, at around 5 a.m. on Nov. 9, just hoursafter the billionaire candidate won the presidency.

Surveillance video showed the suspect bending over a vehicle while tagging the hood of the car with themessage”Trump Rules Black Bitch.” Other vehicles and homes were also vandalized, some with the words”Trump Rules,” police said.

An anonymous tipster identified Tucker after police released surveillance video from the incident to the news media.

Police arrested Tucker last week, but didn’tannouncethe arrest until Thursday. There was no information as to whether he has obtained a lawyer who could comment on the charges on his behalf.

Police have not charged any suspects with other Trump-related graffiti that included swastikas spray-painted the night of the election a few blocks away near Broad and Wharton streets.

A Philadelphia assistant city attorney has been linked to “F— Trump” graffiti spray-painted recently on a Chestnut Hill grocery store.
