Okafor will now have security wherever he goes

A security guard will now accompany 76er Jahlil Okafor whenever he goes out.

After a recent string of embarrassing off-the-court incidents, Jahlil Okafor’s handlers have requested that the 76ers provide a security presence for the star rookie, ABC has reported.

The security measure comes after an incident last week in which Okafor was caught on camera in a brawl outside a Boston nightclub. That fight followed several other recent incidents including a man pointing a gun at Okafor’s head following an argument at a Philadelphia club and Okafor being pulled over driving 108 mph, ABC added.

“From now on, the Sixers are going to have someone at his disposal full-time,” a source close to Okafor said to ABC, which also reported that those close to Okafor have spoken to him about his recent behavior.

“We’re all over him,” the source was quoted by ABC. “It’s tough love and support. We’re telling him he has to learn from these things.”

Okafor’s behavior became a trending topic on social media in recent days, with the hashtag #StuffJahlilDid turning up repeatedly on Twitter as fans joked about his recent string of off-the-court problems.
