Old City Wedding Stroll returns next month for all Philly lovebirds

If you hear distant wedding bells, it’s likely because the Old City Wedding Stroll will be back next month in the city. Taking place this year on April 24, from 5 to 8 p.m., the annual activation will showcase prospective couples the area’s notable venues, services, custom wedding attire, rings, flowers and more.

This year’s Old City Wedding Stroll will feature more than 35 individual businesses opening their doors for meet and greets, expert consultations, tastings, and of course, open houses at the city’s top bridal boutiques and custom tailors. The event is free to attend, however, registration is required and can be completed online, a release notes.

“There are so many unique things about Old City, and as the only business improvement district in Philadelphia to host a neighborhood-wide wedding event, we’re excited to have the Wedding Stroll on that list,” said Job Itzkowitz, Executive Director of Old City District in a statement. “With the growing variety of wedding-related businesses and services offered in Old City, this event showcases how Old City businesses can support every aspect of your wedding day.”

The Wedding Stroll will offer insider access to wedding attire, florists, jewelers, restaurants, venues, wedding services, and more within just a few city blocks from each other (hence the stroll.)

Registration to the activation not only offers the ingress to the area’s wedding perks, but also, a chance to win a prize on behalf of the District worth $4,000. The grand prize holds a basket with gifts like a free veil with a new gown purchase from Philly Bride, a free tungsten band from Hitched, hair and makeup application from JM&CO, a VIP dinner for two aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia, and much more.

“Since Hitched opened in Philadelphia in 2019, we’ve seen the momentum of wedding-related businesses build in Old City. We’ve even been able to expand our storefront and offer more products and services, like engagement rings, as the demand has increased over the years,” said Emma Coats, Head of Retail at Hitched, in a statement.

“We knew unifying our businesses through activated programming could be successful, and Old City District has helped to make that happen. The Old City Wedding Stroll is a model we hope to see replicated in cities where we have other showrooms.”

Carlony Brandhorst, owner of The Papery also added: “After operating our store in Midtown Village at 12th and Locust for over 10 years, we are excited to share that The Papery is returning home to Old City. We’ve been excited to see the wedding industry buzz build over the past few years for Old City, so as we re-evaluated where the future of our business would be, it was without a question that returning to Old City made sense.”
