One man is dead after a North Philadelphia triple shooting Friday night.
Three men were walking east on the 2300 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue around 7 p.m. when two unknown males approached and opened fire.
All three men were hit. The first, identified as Matthew Green, 24, of the 1900 block of Monument Street, was found lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his legs and groin. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in critical condition and rushed into surgery. Green died of his injuries at 3:27 a.m. yesterday.
The other two victims were able to flee and take cover in the nearby Shin’s Market at 2248 Ridge Avenue.
The second victim, 22, and third victim, 24, were found inside the store. The first man suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm and the second, a gunshot wound to his back. Both were taken to Temple University Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Police are unsure of a motive and have not made any arrests.
