One teen killed, two injured in Point Breeze gunfire

A 17-year-old boy died after he was shot in the head in Point Breeze on Monday night.

A 17-year-old boy died in a hail of bullets in the Point Breeze neighborhood Monday night.

Two other teens sustained gunshot wounds in the violence.

The gunfire happened about 10 p.m. on the 1700 block of South Taylor Street.

Nasir Slaughter, 17, of the 1800 block of Ringgold Street, died after being shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) at 11:33 p.m., police said.

A 17-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to his back in the gunfire. He was listed in stable condition at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, according to police.

A third teen was shot in the incident. He sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was listed in stable condition at HUP.

A police spokeswoman did not have a suspect description available Tuesday morning.
