An Overbrook High School student was fatally wounded and two people were injured in gunfire at a playground near the school Thursday afternoon.
The student killed in the gunfire at Tustin Playground, located between 59th and 60th streets on Lancaster Avenue, has been identified as 17-year-old Bernard Scott, of the 1800 block of Georges Lane.
Two suspected gunmen reportedly were taken into police custody, including a 19-year-old man who was among the three people shot, according to media reports.The unidentified 19-year-old man was shot in the back.
A 20-year-old man was also believed to be in police custody for questioning as an alleged shooter.
No charges had been filed in connection with the gunfire as of 9 a.m. Friday, police said.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in his buttocks in the incident. He was listed in stable condition.
The gunfire occurred around 3:45 p.m. after a fight broke out near the school.
