Owls cruise past Akron

The Temple Owls appear to be headed back into the Top 25.

After losing two of three games in the Old Spice Classic to fall out of the Top 25, Temple has won three games in the past week. First, the Owls got signature victories over Maryland and Georgetown. Their latest was an 82-47 win over Akron on Sunday at the Liacouras Center.

Micheal Eric led the Owls (7-2) with 16 points.

Temple shot 63 percent in the first half and held Akron to 20 percent shooting to jump out to a 40-15 halftime lead.

Lavoy Allen had only four points and one rebound.
