Pa. State Police release jewelry in bid to ID skeleton found in park

State police released images of jewelry found on a skeleton in a state park earlier this month in an attempt to help identify the body.

The three rings, pictured above, were discovered along with the skeletal remains. Police said the body was found in Ridley Creek State Park, and is believed to be that of a woman in her late teens to early 20s.

“The rings are unique,” state police said in a prepared statement on Monday. “One ring is a Claddagh ring. The second ring has an engraving on it. The third ring has a green stone.”

The skeleton was found on New Year’s Day around 1 p.m. by a hiker who went slighty off a main trail into a wooded area of Ridley Creek State Park in Delaware County, state police said.

According to police, the remains are of a white female in her late teens to late 20s, roughly 63 inches tall with a slender build. The female had prominent teeth and jaw, either light brown or blonde hair, and wore a size nine shoe, state police said.
