Panorama launches Concert Cocktail & Wine Tribute Series for music and drink lovers

A night filled with music and libations sounds like the perfect match, especially when it comes to Panorama’s latest activation.

The popular venue located inside the Penn’s View Hotel offers plenty of options for vino lovers — in fact, they hold a Guinness World Record for a custom-built wine keeper offering over 120 wines on tap — but cocktail admirers will also be pleased to learn about the Concert Cocktail & Wine Tribute Series, where ultimately, the hotspot will be serving up cocktails and wine flights as an homage to that night’s performing artist.

First up on the bill is an ode Aerosmith, who will be in town this weekend on Sept. 2, at the Wells Fargo Center. That night, Philadelphians can sip on the Walk This Whey ($16), crafted with gin, peach syrup, rosemary, lemon, and a dash of vanilla Whey powder with a rosemary ice sphere.

When Lynard Skynyrd & ZZ Top stop at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Sept. 16, Panorama will be serving up “a tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s timeless melodies with the Bin”, aka the Nebbiolo “Barbaresco” La Vedetta ’19 ($20) from Italywhich will be half price by the glass for imbibers.

And as a release states, fans can also enjoy the Sharp Dressed Manhattan ($16), an ode to ZZ Top’s classic style, combining rye, sweet vermouth, Amaretto, and a dash of Amaro Nardini, finished with a sharp provolone cheese crisp garnish.

When PINK comes to town on Tuesday, Sept. 19, Philadelphians can then find the 5 Shades of Pink Rosé Flight ($38) which will feature five 1.5 oz pours of Rosé including: the Prosecco Rosé “Treviso” Ruggeri ’21 (Italy), the Sangiovese Rosato “Toscana” Frico/Scarpetta ’21 (Italy), the Nerello Mascalese “Rosa dei Venti Organic Siciliane” Tenuta Gorghi Tondi ’22 (Italy), the Pinot Noir Rosé “Julia’s Vineyard” Cambria ’21 (CA), and the Montepulciano Rosato “Organic Grapes~Marche” Passione Natura – Paglieta ’20 (Italy).

Thursday, Sept. 21, when The Jonas Brothers are in town at the Wells Fargo Center, guests at Panorama can sip on the Sucker ($16), which boasts vodka, sucker pucker, apple pucker, Grand Marnier, and a splash of lime topped with a sweet cherry and gummy bear garnish. Later on in the fall when John Mayer comes to town (also at Wells Fargo), Philadelphians can find the “Gravity” Wine Flight ($46), which will include five 1.5oz pours of various red wines.

The Gravity wines will include the Alicante Bouschet “Reserva~Tejo” Fiuza ’19 (Portugal), Cab Sauvignon “Chalk Hill” Mossback ’18 (CA), the Zinfandel “Mendocino” Edmeades ’19 (CA), the Nebbiolo “Barbaresco” La Vedetta ’19 (Italy), and the Merlot /Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc “Pessac-Leognan” l’Arrivet Haut Brion ’18 (France).

Lastly, but certainly not least, on Wednesday, Oct. 18, Queen & Adam Lambert will be at the Wells Fargo Center, while Panorama will be serving up the “Another One Bites the Dust” Espresso Martini ($16), with tequila, espresso, agave, a dash of molé bitters, and garnished with a chocolate bite and nutmeg dust.

Visitors can pair their drinks with a mixture of seafood (think scallops and shrimp), pastas (such as their tortellini and gnocchi), entrees (think a pork tenderloin and veal chop) and much more.

And as the restaurant notes, with its location in the hotel, concertgoers will have easy access to I-95 and the Ben Franklin Bridge, so its ideal to start the night with a concert cocktail or flight and return to their room in the hotel to finish off your Philly concert experience.

Reservations at Panorama (14 N Front St.,) can be made on OpenTable, and to find out more information about Panorama and the Penn’s View Hotel, visit pennsviewhotel.com
