Finding forever homes: PAWS’ promotion offers flexible adoption fees

The love of a precious pet is a love unlike any other.

And PAWS (Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) is working to make sure every animal finds the love they deserve. The local nonprofit is giving animal lovers in the Philadelphia area the opportunity to “name their own adoption fee” for some of their longer-stay cats and dogs during its recently announced ‘Perfectly Impurrfect‘ adoption promotion, which runs now through Thursday, July 25.

PAWS has a long history of successfully pairing people with the perfect animal companion, making sure to find a loving fit for both pets and humans alike while also offering support, guidance, and training for adopters. With this new promotion, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society aims to find loving homes for some of their longer-tenured animals who have not yet found that perfect fit for one reason or another.

Every year, PAWS saves thousands of animals who, without their help, would be left to a life of homelessness and even face the risk of euthanasia. Some animals that come through their doors have individual needs, which, in many cases, increases their stay in a shelter. These needs can vary from socialization needs to a simple daily medication routine. The Perfectly Impuurfect adoption promotion not only celebrates these cats and dogs but also works to find them the perfect home that they deserve.

As each animal finds a new home, another space opens up to welcome other animals in need who need not only immediate care and attention but also to find a permanent family.

“So many amazing pets get overlooked simply because they might need a little extra care or have a special personality preference,” says Tammy Miller, PAWS’ foster manager. “It’s incredibly rewarding to open your home to a pet with unique needs—they’re so grateful for you. And as we all know, nobody’s perfect.”
