A baby girl died after being dropped off for her first day at a Lehigh Townshipday care center.
McKenna Felmly’s mother, Adrienne Kromer, was back at work on April 1 after three and a half months of maternity leave. That morning, shecalled Sharon’s Daycare three times to check on the infant, USA Today reported.
A day care worker told Kromer the baby wasn’t taking a bottle. Concerned, Kromer left work and headed to the center —that’s when she got a call from the center saying the baby wasn’t breathing, USA Today reported.
The Allentown Morning Call reported that day care workers attempted to revive McKennaafter theyfound her unresponsive in a crib. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“We are continuing to conduct interviews with family, friends and employees of the day care,” the police chief told Lehigh Valley Live Wednesday. “We still have some work to finish yet. I can’t say when we will determine manner of death.”
Officials said there was no sign of trauma orfoul play, USA Today reported.
The family has set up a GoFundMe page, which, as of Wednesday afternoon, had raised over$12,000.
