According to a report from TMZ Sports on Monday, former Phillie, Pete Rose, has passed away at the age of 83.
Rose still holds multiple MLB records including for hits, at-bats, and games played after a 24-year career that wasn’t without controversy. He infamously helped lift the Phillies to a World Series win back in 1980 during his five-year stint with the team.
He ended his career with 17 total All-Star appearances, an NL MVP award, and 3 World Series titles to his name.
The TMZ report notes that his family is ‘asking for privacy at this time’.
