In a city where connectivity is key, Philadelphia is lighting up the digital map—literally.

With the launch of the Philly Free Wi-Fi Finder and Philly Free Wi-Fi Dashboard, Philadelphia is taking a major step toward expanding free, high-speed internet access and providing residents with greater insight into digital connectivity across the city.

The Philly Free Wi-Fi Finder is designed to help Philadelphians find nearby available Wi-Fi. By entering their address, residents can explore locations nearby with reliable internet access. Currently, there are more than 100
free Wi-Fi sites across Philadelphia.

The Philly Free Wi-Fi Dashboard offers real-time data on broadband access, adoption trends, and areas in need of connectivity. The platform was launched by the Office of Innovation and Technology in an effort to support policymakers and local community organizations. The dashboard includes graphs providing up-to-date information on project completion, Wi-Fi coverage maps, and census data on broadband and device access.

“Access to reliable, affordable internet is not a luxury. It’s a necessity,” said Melissa Scott, Chief Information Officer for the City of Philadelphia. “With these new tools, the Office of Innovation and Technology is making it easier for residents to get online while also providing industry leaders with the data they need to expand digital access across our city.”
