Check out the Philadelphia Marketplace Fall Market this weekend

Those who love the city’s annual Christmas Village are in luck, because the organizers of the fan-favorite event are putting together the Philadelphia Marketplace Fall Market, and it kicks off this weekend.

Taking place Friday, Oct. 6 through Sunday, Oct. 8, this Dilworth Park pop-up will coincide with Center City District’s Harvest Weekend, which also encompasses Dilworth and the West side of City Hall —so there’s going to be a lot to see and do.

“The Fall Market is the grand finale of the Philly Marketplace series, where over 60 vibrant vendors come together to create a weekend of family fun that’s nothing short of spectacular,” said Project Manager Ronja Baumann in a statement.

Baumann continued: “The Fall Market has an abundance of crafts, and entertainment, making it a celebration of community and small businesses. Join us for a weekend that’s not just about shopping, but about creating countless memories with loved ones amidst the start of the fall season.”

And what can visitors expect?

Local craftsmen, designers, merchants, and small businesses will offer their mostly handmade goods at the Philadelphia Marketplace Fall Market. Philadelphians can find items like pumpkin spiced candles of all kinds, locally made apparel and skin care, dog treats, unique jewelry, art and crafts, and much more, a release states. The Market will also feature vendors selling treats like freshly roasted nuts, homemade pound cakes and cupcakes, Boa Buns, custard, and other desserts.

Vendors this weekend will include Babyface Mugs, City Totes, Foster Philly Art, Lily Lough Jewelry, Philly Nuts, Shadowcat Jewelry, Stoked Pineapple, Husky Jawn, Skyseed Energy, Bluestem Botanicals, Black Sheep Dog Treats, and Paper on Pine, plus a lot more (a full list is currently available online.)

Center City’s Harvest Weekend will also be in full swing the same time as the Philadelphia Marketplace Fall Market, from Friday, Oct. 6 to Sunday, Oct. 8. The activation will feature live music, seasonal food and beverage items (like Bavarian pretzels and bratwurst) and activities for families. The free event will also feature the Hay Maze (which went up a week early on Sept. 29), plus a schedule of free activities and entertainment including local bands and DJs, live pumpkin carving demonstrations and pumpkin painting for children.

Harvest Weekend will also feature strolling performers like scarecrow stilt walkers and magicians, and then on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m., the Philly Goat Project will host a meet and greet with goats for guests of all ages.

And as a release states, on Saturday afternoon, Maker’s Mark Diplomat, Mai Jeans, will be onsite from 1 to 4 p.m. with customized tote bag giveaways, and at 4:15 p.m., visitors 21 and older are invited to participate in a stein-hoisting contest presented by Tröegs Independent Brewing. Festivities will continue on Sunday with live apple cider making at 3 p.m. Also on Sunday, everyone is invited to explore the park’s City Pickle pickle ball courts from 1 to 3 p.m.

For parking, attendees of the Made in Philadelphia Markets (aka the Fall Market) will also receive an exclusive parking discount for the Love Park Self-Park Garage of $17 Monday through Friday, and $19 Saturday and Sunday (up to 16 hours) when registering on iParkit app. As a release states, sign up for the express parking account using the parker program code “MADEINPHILA” to receive the Made in Philadelphia patron discount.
