If young people want to see the movie “SELMA,” the city will get them in for free.
The city and a few sponsors picked up the bill for 3,000 more tickets to the film, which documents the story behind the Martin Luther King-led protests through the southern town, for young people who want to see the movie.
The free tickets are part of a 28-city promotion of the picture sponsored by Paramount, the film’s distributor.
Middle and high school students with a valid student I.D. or a report card at the box office of participating movie theaters can receive free admission while tickets last.
The city joined the “SELMA for students” initiative earlier in the month, which offered students the opportunity to see the movie free of charge.
