Philadelphia School District dismissing at 1:30 due to heat

The unseasonably warm temperatures are resulting in early dismissal today in the Philadelphia School District.

Classes will let out at 1:30 due to the heat and humidity, according to an announcement on the district’s website. The closure will also affect early childhood programs and afterschool activities and programs. Routine transportation will be available.

Tonight’s scheduled SRC strategy meeting has also been canceled. The next meeting is scheduled for June 18.

Temperatures are expected to remain around 90 degrees the rest of the week. Parents and guardians can check the district’s website for further information and updates.
