Are you ready for the Big Time?
The Philadelphia Zoo’s latest exhibition, “Big Time: Life in an Endangerous Age,” celebrated its grand opening this week, allowing Philadelphians to experience 24- life-size, animatronic dinosaurs and other giants set in a variety of realistic, evocative landscapes that highlight the catastrophic historic events from the Age of Dinosaurs through today.
Big Time allows guests to travel through time—from 66 million years ago when an asteroid slammed into Earth, ending the reign of dinosaurs, to a more recent period about 70,000 years ago, when humans spread across the globe, meeting saber-toothed cats, gorilla-sized lemurs and birds bigger than ostriches, to today, with animals like polar bears and elephants.
“Big Time is a dynamic experience that will stimulate the senses and transport guests back in time to walk among dinosaurs like the mighty T.Rex, puts them face-to-face with an enormous Woolly Mammoth, and side-by-side with a life-sized polar bear, elephant and Sumatran rhino,” said Philadelphia Zoo’s President & CEO Vikram H. Dewan in a statement.
Reservations and tickets are now available for Big Time and can be made online at PhiladelphiaZoo.org.
