Phillies postponed tonight

Rikard Larma/Metro. Citizens Bank Park.

Tonight’s Phillies game against the New York Mets has been postponed due to rain, officials announced this afternoon.

All tickets for tonight’s game will be honored at the rescheduled game, which is set for June 2 at 7:05 p.m.

The Phillies dropped the first game in the Mets series on Tuesday night 6-1, with Marlon Byrd scoring the lone run for the Phils with a solo home run in the fourth inning.

Cole Hamels, who made his home debut this year, had his worst start in three years. He told reporters he was “embarrassed.”

He gave up six runs on eight hits, five walks, one hit batsman and struck out three in four-and-two-thirds innings. His career numbers against the Mets have never been decent; he is 7-14 with an ERA approaching 5.

The Phillies have a scheduled day off Thursday and host the Nationals starting Friday in a three-game series.
