The Phillies agreed to terms yesterday with top pick Larry Greene. The 18-year-old received a $1 million bonus, per MLB.com.
Greene was the 39th selection in June’s amateur draft. He hit .562 with 19 homers and 52 RBIs this season for Berrien County High in Georgia. The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder also earned a football scholarship to Alabama.
Greene is a natural outfielder, but may play first base at the big-league level.
