While Phillies fans continued to vote for their favorites in the All-Star Game voting final, it was announced on Tuesday that 2 Phillies position prospects would be heading to the minor league equivalent.
Aiden Miller and Justin Crawford will represent the Phillies at the 2024 All-Star Futures Game.
Miller is the Phillies’ top position prospect and is ranked 28th in all of baseball by MLB.com. He owned Single-A before he was promoted to Jersey Shore, slashing .275/.401/.483. He’s been off to a slow start in High-A.
Crawford is ranked 56th on MLB.com’s top 100 prospects. In 63 games at High-A, he’s hitting .287 with a .748 OPS. He already has 5 homers on the season, 2 more than in his first 103 career minor league games. He’s also stolen 24 bases this year. This will be the 2nd time Crawford has been selected to the All-Star Futures Game. He went with Mick Abel in 2023.
Both players are former first-round draft picks. Miller was selected 27th overall in 2023 and Crawford 17th in 2022. They will head to Arlington, TX for the All-Star Futures Game on July 13th. Former Phillie Michael Young will manage the National League squad. The rest of the coaching staff will feature only Rangers alumni, including Ian Kinsler (bench coach) and Mark Teixeira (hitting coach).
Adrián Beltré will manage the American League side. Former Phillie Raul Ibañez will serve as his bench coach.
