Phillies vs Diamondbacks: The Phillies might’ve fallen at the final hurdle against the Padres, but they’ll have a shot at proving it was simply a fluke against a Diamondbacks side who have been resurgent in their last 10 games, going 7-3.

Taijuan Walker (3-2, 5.33 ERA) vs Jordan Montgomery (5-4, 6.00 ERA)
As far as pitching matchups go, this is a prime spot for the Phillies to win here. Taijuan Walker might have started the season shakily after dealing with a spring training injury, but he’s looked much better. After a strong performance in London, Walker held the Orioles to 3 runs in 5 innings. He now faces a Diamondbacks team who rank 6th in batting average this season, so it could be a tough night at the mound, but one where if he is a step closer back to his best, that yields impressive results.
Across from Walker will be Jordan Montgomery, who has strode into form as of late. He’s only allowed 4 runs across his last two starts and struck out 7 in his most recent against the White Sox. As we know, the Phils are an offensive powerhouse, but Montgomery’s ERA is misleading when looking at recent form.
This could be a really fun matchup. With both offenses soaring as of late, it’s hard not to back the over. However, both Walker and Montgomery have looked better in recent weeks, and these offenses have pumped the total past double digits. As a result, I’m taking the UNDER and expecting solid outings from both.
Betting pick: UNDER 10 runs -110
It’s hard not to love Kyle Schwarber here. With 6 home runs in his last 10, it’s safe to say a Summer of Schwarbombs is here. He’s 0-2 against Montgomery in his career, but I think he registers his first hit against him this evening. The prop for a Kyle Schwarber hit is -235.
