Phillies Wall of Fame: Schilling in, Dykstra out

Curt Schilling in? Lenny Dykstra out?

The Phillies announced their annual list of Wall of Fame nominees today. Twelve names are on the ballot, including Schilling, one of the heroes of that beloved 1993 team.

Other nominees are: Larry Christenson, Jim Konstanty, Ron Reed, Rick Wise, Mike Lieberthal, Jimmy Wilson, Pinky Whitney, Greg Gross, Von Hayes, Mike Ryan, Jim Fregosi.

Dykstra’s name was missing from the list, after appearing on it last year. The center piece of that 1993 team is facing many legal issues and awaiting sentencing on multiple counts of grand theft auto. We’re pretty sure that has something to do with his removal from this year’s list.

Schilling, of course, is a no-brainer based on stats but area fans do have a love-hate relationship with him. Should make for an interesting showing, assuming Schilling gets in and shows up at Citizens Bank Park.

Anyway, fans can vote here. Voting ends March 14 at 5 p.m.
