The Art of the Brick at the Franklin Institute
For the first time since 2015, The Art of the Brick from contemporary artist Nathan Sawaya is returning to Philadelphia with its over 100 works of LEGO art.
The exhibit features multiple rooms with several themes. Among the works of art include stunning life-size models of animals, including a 20-foot skeleton of a T. Rex, and several recreations of famous artistic works such as Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent at the Museum of American Revolution
Philadelphia is not just known as the City of Brotherly Love. Due to its historical significance during the Revolution, it became known as ‘the birthplace of America.’ It’s only logical that the city would boast one of the most impressive collections across these United States, which is located at the Museum of American Revolution.
The newest and temporary addition to their exhibits includes a look into the headquarters of one of the core military minds of the revolution, the nation’s first president, George Washington. Washington’s tent provides insight into America’s first leader, including over 100 artifacts, from letters to artwork and even military belongings in an environment where family members of all ages can learn together.
Witness to Revolution runs now through Jan. 5, 2025, at the Museum of American Revolution.
Summerfest at Independence Blue Cross RiverRink

One of the Philadelphia Waterfront’s favorite summertime traditions, Summerfest returns to the Delaware River waterfront at the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink. Beginning May 12, the carnival-like atmosphere will return to the riverfront, where families can enjoy food, drinks, games, events, and, of course, skating throughout the summer.
Whether you’re just looking to skate, grab a drink at The Lodge Bar or a bite at Cantina La Martina, Chickie’s and Pete’s, or Skelly’s concessions, or even host a party of your own, do so with stunning views overlooking the Delaware River.
Admission to Summerfest is free, and you can pay as you go for roller skating, games, rides, and more.
