A man wanted by authorities in Philadelphia on a variety of charges including rape and robbery was taken into custody after an overnight standoff with police.
Jamik Washington, 23, of Bensalem was arrested in North Wildwood, New Jersey, on Tuesday after local police spotted him in a house on West 18thAvenue, NJ.com reported. The standoff began after he refused to come to the door.

The Cape May County Regional SWAT Team and Cape May County Crisis Negotiation Team were called to the scene and, after eight hours of negotiating, Washington surrendered without incident, Philly.com reported.
Officials said to NJ.com that, besides the rape and robbery charges, Washington was also wanted by Philadelphia police on charges of sexual assault, making terroristic threats and false imprisonment.
After being taken into custody, Washington was moved to the Cape May County Correctional Center, but Philadelphia police are expected to seek his extradition, Philly.com added.

North Wildwood police have also charged Washington with criminal trespassing and obstruction of justice in relation to the standoff, according to NJ.com.
