To those Philadelphians who are looking for a way to help the people of Ukraine — now is your chance.
Philly Stands with Ukraine will present a benefit concert on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at the Rotunda, 4014 Walnut Street. The Philly Loves Ukraine: Benefit Concert will feature live music by the West Philadelphia Orchestra and Sing Slavic.
All proceeds will benefit Revived Soldiers Ukraine, which was recently awarded Ukraine’s highest civilian award by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for their humanitarian work. Proceeds will help deliver urgently needed relief and supplies directly to the people of Ukraine.
The concert will feature West Philadelphia Orchestra, a brass band known for blending a wide-range of music, including traditional Balkan music, klezmer music rooted in Philadelphia’s klezmer tradition, NOLA style ‘jazz,’ and a bit of frevo, ska and American pop to create their highly unique sound. Also performing is Sing Slavic, based in West Philadelphia, who will present songs from countries such as Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, and Russia.
